Newcastle Move For £15m Player Hard To Credit
The weekend saw another flood of transfer ‘insider’ knowledge from the media.
With Newcastle not buying any first team squad players in the summer, it is no surprise to see United’s name regularly added to any transfer story that is in any way credible…or not.
Where do you start?
Spurs bought the player for £15m just over a year ago and no doubt will be on Premier League wages appropriate to a £15m player.
Dembele has only scored 11 goals in 103 Premier League appearances which isn’t great for a midfielder.
Newcastle United already have numerous midfield options and it is arguably the one area in the squad that has any depth.
As we’ve said in the past, it is very hard to see Newcastle buying any established Premier League player of any consequence, with Mike Ashley’s strict wage policy leaving little or no wriggle room, and that is even before you come to paying the transfer fee.
