Newcastle Bid Expected For Warner Hahn

Reports from Holland claim that Newcastle United are expected to bid for Dutch 6ft 6 keeper, Warner Hahn.

Hahn currently plays at the second level of Dutch football with Dordrecht but has also represented his country at every level up to his current position in the Under 21s.

Newcastle are said to have scouted the player with very favourable feedback but while United are reported to be ready to offer around 2m euros in the January window, they could face stiff competition.

Celtic have already been turned down by Warner Hahn but clubs from around Europe, including a handful from Italy, are also said to be watching him.

At only 21 you would expect he won’t grow any more(!) but obviously he’ll be a longer term prospect if United follow up their reported interest, the player still yet to play at a decent standard of football on a regular basis.

Naturally, any move for Warner Hahn would leave questions surrounding Rob Elliot’s future at Newcastle.
