Alan Pardew Clashes With David Moyes

The Premier league manager of the month award will be decided this weekend and it appears that only David Moyes could possibly deny Alan Pardew.

If the United manager does pick up the November accolade then he will be the first Newcastle manager since Sir Bobby Robson to be named manager of the month.

Ironically, despite being named manager of the year for 2011/12, Pardew failed to win a single monthly award due to the way the results fell.

In November, Pardew’s team have registered wins over Chelsea, Spurs and Norwich, those nine points leaving the rest trailing.

A win against West Brom will surely make the award a certainty, while a point should still see Alan Pardew getting both hands on the award.

Moyes has steadied the ship at Old Trafford but even if Newcastle lost against West Brom and Man Utd won at Tottenham, Pardew may even still be handed the award, even though Manchester United would then have ten points from the November Premier League fixtures.

The Mancs have beaten Stoke and Fulham, plus a draw at Cardiff, surely wins over both Spurs and Chelsea will see Pardew win the manager of the month accolade.

Elsewhere, Arsenal and Manchester City are next best with two wins so far but surely defeat on Wearside would rule the latter out…

Newcastle may not quite be playing champagne football but so long as the results keep coming, Pardew might just be getting a taste for the tipple in the coming months…
