Manager Confirms Nile Ranger Has Gone AWOL

Every time I hear Nile Ranger mentioned, I’m just so relieved that it isn’t Newcastle United’s name being dragged through the mood every time he hits the headlines, though there again 9 times out of 10 any story will start with ‘Ex-Newcastle United….’.

Today (Thursday) has seen Ranger yet again making headlines off the pitch.

This time it is Nile Ranger’s manager at Swindon, Mark Cooper, who has confirmed that the striker has gone missing and he doesn’t know where he is.

Ranger had been given permission to miss training and a match with Wycombe on Tuesday in order to deal with ‘personal issues’ but was due back at training today, only he never showed.

This led to Swindon manager Cooper to say earlier today;

“I don’t know (where Ranger is) and that is all I am prepared to say. He was never going to be playing on Tuesday but he was supposed to be in training today.”

At  least when he was at Newcastle the player might have been repeatedly late for training but at least he eventually turned up.

Ranger had actually appeared to apply himself on the pitch at long last and has scored six goals in sixteen matches for Swindon, though he is due to face trial in the New Year on a rape charge.
