Hatem Ben Arfa Talks The Talk

Newcastle United’s sometimes mercurial midfield player, Hatem Ben Arfa, has promised his side will produce a positive reaction to losing their last two outings – against Sunderland and Manchester City.

Having lost their second derby in a row and exiting the League Cup, Ben Arfa is aware of the hurt the Magpies are causing their fans of late, but the Frenchman says it is the same for the players and that they intend to do something about it.

We know how important the Sunderland game was to our fans, in the dressing room it was terrible, we were disappointed.

“It’s a big game because it’s against Chelsea but it is the same as any other. It is a game for three points but I think we can win, that is our objective.”

Ben Arfa and his United team-mates will be faced with an in-form Chelsea side tomorrow, hoping that they can nullify rejuvenated Spanish striker Fernando Torres and pick up three points as they did in this fixture last season when a brace from Moussa Sissoko and a rare goal from Jonas Gutierrez were enough to give United a 3-2 victory over the London side.
