Newcastle Transfer Strike ‘Target’ – Only 11 Goals In 55 Matches

The latest Newcastle transfer target news claims Alan Pardew’s interest in Ecuadorian forward, Felipe Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian forward is twenty-five and left-footed.Currently at Lokomotiv Moscow, after spending three seasons being sent out on loan by Manchester City, it is believed that the striker could be tempted by a return to the top tier of English football.

The powerfully built Caicedo cost Lokomotiv £6million in July 2011, but there has been no indication as yet as to the price Newcastle would be looking to pay to secure his services.

Caicedo, if he were to join the club, would be another of our players off to Rio de Janeiro for the World Cup next summer, after three wins and four draws in their South American qualifying group was enough to send them through to the finals.

With the future of Loic Remy still uncertain and Papiss Cisse failing to find Premier League form, Alan Pardew could well look to boost his striking options come January.

However, a record of only 11 league goals in 55 appearances for the Russian club hardly excites.
