Ex-Newcastle Midfielder Involved in Racism Row ‘Enjoys’ Most Savage Tackle Ever?
Just over a year ago, Fenerbahce played Trabzonspor in a two-legged match.
The result isn’t what made the headlines, rather it was what happened over the two games between two of the players.
While the player at the heart of the ‘incidents’ was Fenerbahce’s ex-Newcastle midfielder Emre. Our ex-Turkish midfielder was accused when at Newecastle of something similar against Everton players but the case was eventually dropped.
In the first match of the two, Emre fouled Zokora and as he stood over his rival you didn’t need to be much of a lip reader to know what he said.
For his racist verbal attack, Emre was suspended for three matches rather than what should have been the accepted norm of four to eight matches for such an offence.
When the teams met a few weeks later I think it is fair to say that revenge was on the menu.
Watch the video footage and if you don’t wince when the last challenge is shown then you are a better man than me.
