Deschamps Calls On Cabaye To Save France’s World Cup

France face their destiny tonight and after been frozen out after the summer transfer shenanigans, Yohan Cabaye is recalled by Didier Deschamps to try and inspire his country to qualify for Brazil next summer.

L’Equipe can claimed that their information was that the French Coach would make wholesale changes and rely on tried and tested players such as Cabaye and Benzema, with both recalled to the team alongside others such as Sakho.

Trying to overturn a two goal deficit, both Cabaye and his best mate Mathieu Debuchy start the match, with Loic Remy and Moussa Sissoko having to settle for a place on the bench.

As we’ve said earlier this week, it can’t be underestimated just what effect the qualification, or not, of France will have on Newcastle United’s short and medium-term future.

Obviously you would always hope that players are professional enough to always do their very best for who pays the wages but in reality outside factors will always help or hinder players to a greater or lesser extent.

Playing for your place at next year’s world cup finals would rank pretty high on the list of factors that would help your players’ performances – just look at Shola’s goal against Italy last night!
