Cheick Tiote Injury Latest After Chelsea Match
After a shocker of a season last time around, Cheick Tiote has been back at his best in recent matches and the responsibility of the captaincy hasn’t done any harm either.
So when Tiote limped off in the second half you feared the worst, Alan Pardew gave an instant injury report after the match but had his little ‘joke’ first;
“It was a tactical decision (to come off) by Cheick, he said ‘bring Vurnon on, he’ll change the game and make the second goal with a great bit of skill’ and he was right…he didn’t really say that though.
“He had a little strain but he is fine. He will train Thursday. In Vurnon Anita though it was difficult to leave him out. As a manager there are some people who you can’t even look in the eye because they have played so well for you and he is one of them at the minute.”
