Alan Pardew ‘We Don’t Really Want To Look That Far (Champions League) But…’

The old mantra of just taking each game as it comes would have definitely applied to Newcastle’s approach to consecutive home matches against Norwich and West Brom.

A very surprising but welcome 6 points from Chelsea and Spurs really set the scene for these home games and now the Champions League is being whispered…

This is what Alan Pardew had to say about three points and the…Champions League;

“We defended very well and had numerous chances to wrap the game up but the most important thing today was the win, we got the job done.

“We had a tricky final 10 minutes but before that I thought we were comfortable – you can get a bit lackadaisical in your game at two goals up and I don’t think that we were as good in possession as the last couple of games.

“We had a tricky last ten minutes but prior to that I thought we were comfortable. I thought though we had some good play today and have won 3 on the trot inn very difficult circumstances which speaks for itself.

“We just have to make sure we win our next home game. We don’t really want to look that far (Champions League) but we’ve got everybody fit and had some really good options from the bench.

“We are a good club and we are going in the right direction, the most important thing is that we are winning games.”
