Advanced Talks For Newcastle To Take Striker On 6 Month Loan
If widespread media claims are true, Newcastle will be adding another on loan forward player in January.
It is reported across the media that Wilfried Zaha’s representatives met Newcastle officials in recent days and talks are at an advanced stage for the forward/winger to spend the second half of the season at St.James’ Park.
With the player declaring no interest in going back to Palace on a temporary basis and having not managed a single minute of play in the Premier League for Manchester United, the way is clear for Zaha to continue his progress at Newcastle temporarily.
Moving for £18m, twenty year old Zaha did reach the England first team but has been dropped back to Under 21 level due to lack of match action.
Remy’s on loan action at Newcastle has led to his recall for France and if Zaha can show the form at Newcastle that led Manchester United to splash out, then he would surely have a fighting chance of making it into an England squad hardly blessed with creativity.
As for Newcastle, adding another loan player would not be great long-term but a versatile striker/winger who can score goals could be exactly what United need to release some of the burden on Loic Remy to score our goals.
