Vuckic and Bigirimana Push Claims In 7 Goal Thriller

Newcastle United’s reserve side came out on top in a seven goal thriller away to West Brom on Monday.

A side with a good smattering of recognisable names turned out for Newcastle with sixteen year-old Adam Armstrong netting the decisive goal late on.

Earlier in the game, under the gaze of United’s Director of Football, Joe Kinnear, Haris Vuckic had netted a brace for the Magpies to equalise twice for the visitors during a hectic affair.

Gael Bigirimana had put Newcastle ahead before West Brom drew level, then going into the lead through goals from Alex Jones and Mani O’Sullivan. Vuckic put United back on level terms before Morgan Ferrier netted, ensuring the Birmingham outfit led proceedings at half-time.

Vuckic had to wait until 75 minutes to get his second and United’s third, as he scored from a free-kick to level the scores once again.

A close-range finish from Armstrong following a Vuckic cut-back finally settled the game, as Newcastle ran out victorious.
