Video Special – The Goals Of Jackie Milburn

With this week (Wednesday 9 October) marking the 25th anniversary of the sad passing of Jackie Milburn, we are running various features to mark the occasion.

Today we have brought you a very special video featuring the goals of Jackie Milburn, including those that helped bring three FA Cup trophies to St.James’ Park in the fifties.

The quality of the video may not be what we expect these days on our state of the art TVs but one thing is for sure and that is the atmosphere and character of that era is totally brought to life with this evocative black and white footage.

As well as what happens on the pitch, it is always uplifting to see the crowd footage of what was a real boom time for football after the second world war, nowhere more so than Newcastle United.

You can’t help but be a little envious and wonder just how it must have felt to see the team lift three trophies in such a short space of time and with the late great Jackie Milburn at the heart of it.

Relive it all below thanks to The Mag’s YouTube Channel (Click HERE to subscribe for free).

Also, we’ve pulled together some special items of Jackie Milburn memorabilia that we are sure will be of interest, including items such as Jackie Milburn’s signature, testimonial programme, rare autobiographies, nostalgic magazines of the time featuring Jackie and loads more; we have them featuring in the latest Mag Auctions of classic Newcastle United memorabilia..

It costs nothing to look and with the auctions lasting for a week you have plenty of time to keep an eye and bid at any time over the 7 days, potentially picking up a real bargain.
