Paul Dummett’s Personal Message After Liverpool Match

Whatever happens in the rest of his career, Paul Dummett will never forget the day he scored his first ever Newcastle goal.

An interesting question afterwards would have been whether the Geordie defender’s experience against Liverpool topped actually winning a trophy, as Dummett did with St.Mirren last season in the Scottish League Cup.

Mapou’s sending off saw Paul Dummett introduced in place of Moussa Sissoko and he put in a great shift.

Alan Hansen pointed out that appealing for offside during the move that led to the second equaliser was a blot on Dummett’s performance but Shearer stuck up for the Geordie defender.

Playing out of position in the middle, Dummett made some great blocks and clearances, then obviously crowned his performance with a brilliantly taken goal.

Only shame being that it wasn’t the winner on a day that had everything else.

Speaking after the match Dummett was obviously brimming over with pride and that is the central thing we expect of our players, pride in wearing the shirt.

As a born and bred Geordie that is a given for somebody like Paul Dummett.

As well as his interviews, this was his personal message he sent out via his Twitter account.
