Pardew ‘He’s Become A Better Specimen’

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he intends to give midfielder player Vurnon Anita a place in his starting XI against Manchester City tonight, despite leaving him on the bench for the club’s last three Premier League fixtures.

After Sunday’s disappointing derby day defeat to Sunderland, Pardew spoke of the need to “freshen up,” his side. “If this was a Premier League game, I would still have to freshen it up because of the emotion and physical output of Sunday. It was such that we need a bit of freshness for this game.”

When asked directly about the ex-Ajax man, Pardew responded, “Vurnon will play.

“He is in good form and I don’t think he is going to do anything other than enhance his chances of playing against Chelsea.

“He’s become a better specimen for the Premier League since he’s been here and it’s showing. His speed and physical output have increased since he’s been here.”

Betting – Anita To Be Man Of Match 25/1 – NUFC To Score In Both Halves 22/5 – A Red Card To Be Shown 11/2
