Pardew Explains To Midfielder He Needs More ‘Power’
Alan Pardew has admitted that dropping Vurnon Anita for Saturday’s Premier League game away to Cardiff City was a tough decision.
With CheickTiote having an injury-plagued start to the new season, Anita had come in and more than filled the gap left by the Ivorian, and has been one of United’s stand-out performers in a patchy opening to the campaign.
“I felt we needed a bit more power on the pitch, especially away from home, and Cheick, Moussa and Cabaye were really good,” said Pardew.
“It was tough on Vurnon as he’s shown he can play at this level, in this team and for this club.
He’s a player who can move the ball. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the nod.”
