Newcastle To End 2 Year 26 Days Hoodoo Against Sunderland

The day has finally arrived.

Yes I know that it is derby day but on top of that, I fancy today could just be the day Newcastle end their unbelievably bad record of (not) scoring from corners.

October 1st 2011 was the last time Newcastle achieved this feat in the Premier League when Demba Ba scored from Yohan Cabaye’s corner against (now third tier) Wolves.

Yes two years and twenty six days later I think that day has arrived.

375 corners, including another 31 this season, later and I think it is just about time for this sad statistic to be put to bed.

Paul Dummett showed last week against Liverpool how a little bit of movement and imagination can turn a bog standard long range free-kick into a goal.

Surely the players can add one of these scrappy goals to the total against our mackem friends.

Saw the highlights from Sunderland’s four goal hammering last week at Swansea and they let in two comedy goals from corners.

Remember you read it here first when we score from that corner…

Betting – Remy To Be Man Of The Match 9/1 – Shola to score last goal 8/1 – NUFC win 2-0 14/1
