Newcastle Striker Can’t Stop Scoring For England
Newcastle United’s hot prospect Adam Armstrong netted two more goals for England’s Under 17 team in their 8-0 demolition of Gibraltar in a World Cup qualifying game.
After England’s 4-0 victory over Armenia in their first qualifying match – during which Armstrong also bagged a brace –the first ever meeting of England and Gibraltar on Saturday ended in a rout, with the sixteen year old from West Denton grabbing two of England’s eight goals.
After hitting the woodwork twice in the opening exchanges, as well as having a shot saved, Armstrong finally opened the scoring for the Three Lions when he crashed an effort in from 30 yards out. He then notched a second before being substituted at half-time, by which point England were three goals to the good.
Five more followed for the English youngsters, who will now go into their final qualifying game against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday in excellent spirits.
