Mike Ashley Now Selling Rangers Merchandise In Newcastle United Club Shop

In this instant information age people can send things round instantly by social media and produce and distort images.

So when I heard last night that there were pictures going around supposedly showing Glasgow Rangers merchandise available in Newcastle United official club shops, I thought good on somebody for giving us a laugh because clearly this could only be a spoof.

Checking it out this morning and sure enough I find out that it….isn’t!

Yes, I went on the NUFC official club website, clicked on shop and found this below.

I have no strong feelings either way about Glasgow Rangers or indeed just about any other club apart from our near neighbours.

This move by Ashley though is surely just taking the mick, just because he also owns the rights to Rangers merchandise doesn’t mean he has to sell it in a Newcastle United club shop.

Our club becomes more of an embarrassment every day under Ashley and as we revealed recently, when you purchase anything from NUFC’s online shop, the contract is with Sports Direct and not with Newcastle United (check out NUFC Direct Terms & Conditions on the Newcastle United shop website if you don’t believe me).

Do Sports Direct then pay the profits back to Newcastle United? Your guess is as good as mine.
