Loan Deal Not Looking So Good Now
After Monday night’s reserve match against Bolton Wanderers, United’s Australian defender Curtis Good limped out of the game with a suspected hamstring problem; that injury has been confirmed and looks set to deny Good the chance to move away from Tyneside on loan in search of first-team experience.
The twenty-year old enjoyed a successful loan spell at Bradford City last season, eventually appearing in the final of the League Cup, although the Bantams lost 5-0 to the Welsh side, and was keen to go out on loan again.
“I’d love to be playing pro football week in week out; I’d love another loan spell, but that’s up to the manager.”
Monday night’s injury, however, is likely to see Good sidelined past November 4th, the emergency loan deals deadline day for lower league clubs.
Head reserve coach Willie Donachie said “It is a shame for Curtis. He was just getting back to fitness and maybe going out on loan.”
