Life’s A Beach For Newcastle Midfielder

Having struggled to break into Alan Pardew’s first team plans this season, Dan Gosling has sought beaches new and moved to Paul Ince’s Championship side Blackpool.

Gosling debuted for the Seasiders at the weekend in a 0-0 draw with Charlton, coming off the bench as a 74th minute substitute.

Having previously been at Plymouth and Everton, Gosling made his Newcastle debut away to the mackems in a game that ended 1-1, 10 days after his 21st birthday, although an injury-hampered Toon career means he has only made a total of 28 appearances for Newcastle over the course of 4 seasons with the club.

Newcastle’s number 15 scored his first goal for the club away to Manchester City in the 2011/2012 season, becoming the 100th different player to score a Premier League goal for United.

Gosling’s loan contract will see him at Blackpool until January 2014 if he remains there for the duration of it, however a cause in the contract allows him to be recalled at any point after his first 28 days at his new club.
