Cheick Tiote ‘I Will Always Do My Job’

Cheick Tiote has urged his Newcastle United team-mates to pick up where they left off against Everton when they play Cardiff this Saturday.

After a desperately poor first half performance against the Toffees, United’s men salvaged some pride with a more spirited showing in the second 45 minutes.

The positives from that half are what Tiote hopes to take into the game on Saturday as the Magpies meet the Bluebirds.

“In the second half we came back on the pitch with more motivation. That made the difference.

After the second goal we believed we could score another one. We pushed and it was a blow for us that Loic Remy missed the last chance of the game but I think we’ve got some positives to take out of the game.”

The Ivorian also spoke of his pleasure at making his first Premier League start since the Toon’s opening day defeat at Manchester City. “It was good to be back in the starting XI for me.

I will always do my job and we need to stay strong for the game on Saturday.”
