Cabaye Wonders If He Has Hit The Jackpot

7 years ago

England struggled for the most part through a World Cup qualifying group that looked average at best, though at least they signed off with a bit of a flourish with better performances and results in their last two matches.

We’ll maybe get a better gauge on England’s standing when France take on Ukraine next month for a place in Brazil, matches played on November 15th and 19th.

While England just made it narrowly ahead of Ukraine, France were always up against it with Spain in their group.

As Cabaye explains below, they aren’t writing off Ukraine but are clearly grateful to have avoided Portugal and Ronaldo;

“Have we hit the jackpot? I don’t know, we will see on November 19th. The draw could have been worse but of course we will have to respect Ukraine.

We’ve two games to play but just because we play Ukraine and not Portugal, we are not already qualified.

It won’t be simple as we face a team that will also want to go to Brazil. They score lots of goals and they have lost a few games but won nearly all of their recent matches. It could have been more difficult but it will still be tough.”
