Cabaye Reveals What Loic Remy Gives To The Team

8 years ago

There was no doubt that a fully fit Yohan Cabaye made a massive contribution at Cardiff, his range of passing and shooting gives Newcastle a whole different dimension.

However, it often becomes irrelevant how good midfield players are if they don’t have decent strikers in front of them.

After the final whistle Cabaye spoke to the club’s official TV channel;

“It was very very important to win today, especially after Everton.

The target today was to play as a unit and get something from Cardiff. We started with confidence on the ball and were two goals up at the break, then Cardiff began to press us and we stayed solid, despite the goal.

I love to play it forward and he (Remy) is so quick I can move the ball very quickly and clever, I watch his movement and he gives us another way to play.”

While Remy is the man of the moment, I think in time Cisse will really benefit as well from the French striker playing alongside him. The other key component of course is keeping the likes of Cabaye and Ben Arfa on the pitch and in the creative mood the French midfielder showed yesterday.

Goals for Cisse will come but happily for us in the meantime we have Loic Remy knocking them in. You can’t have too many people on the pitch capable of scoring goals and I suppose at least Cisse can claim an assist after Remy coolly finished after the keeper’s save from Papiss’ toe poke!
