Cabaye Returns To French Squad Plus An NUFC Surprise Addition

With his rehabilitation back into the Newcastle team, Didier Descamps has named Yohan Cabaye in his squad to play a world cup qualifier against Finland and a friendly against Australia.

Cabaye had been left out of the last squad with Deschamps saying he wouldn’t select anybody who wasn’t getting regular football, Yohan being on strike at the time.

Deschamps squad also has the surprise news of Loic Remy being brought back into the fold thanks to his excellent form and three goals for Newcastle.

With the addition of Moussa Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy that makes four call-ups altogether in the French set-up.

It will be interesting to see if Yohan Cabaye is totally back in favour and gets his place back against Finland. It would appear likely that the Australia friendly will see more squad players given a chance with Mathieu Debuchy a likely starter and Loic Remy also an interesting possibility now.
