Tim Krul – One City, One Club, One Love

Newcastle United custodian Tim Krul spoke today of his happiness with life on Tyneside.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Krul addressed rumours of his departure from Tyneside with this rebuff:

I don’t read what the papers say anymore. I’m really happy; I’ve got four years on my contract at Newcastle and I love playing for the Club.

I just focus on myself; having a good season and hopefully going to the World Cup.”

Krul joined the Magpies from Den Haag as a 17 year-old and has worked his way through the Newcastle youth system to become a fixture in United’s first-team and a real contender to represent Holland at next summer’s World Cup.

Speaking of the region, Krul described Newcastle as his “second home.”

I’ve been here eight years; it’s a second home and second family. Playing in front of 52,000 Geordies is a feeling that I don’t think many clubs can match.”
