Things To See And Do In Sunderland…

The price of away tickets on top of ever increasing travel costs has become an ever increasing headache for fans of Premier League clubs, nowhere more so than at Newcastle.

While the FSF’s (Football Supporters Federation) excellent call of ‘Twenty’s Plenty’ for away tickets has been predictably ignored by the clubs, they have at least attempted to put a sticking plaster on the problem.

The Premier League have allocated £12m over the next three years to ‘enhance the away supporter experience’, each club having £200,000 a year to allocate as they see fit.

Newcastle United haven’t announced anything yet, while a number of other clubs are putting on free coaches to away matches (Villa, Stoke etc) and others such as Liverpool, Palace and Swansea are knocking money off the price of away tickets.

Sunderland though have gone down a different route and as well as knocking money off certain away trips, have spent some of the money on improving signage in the Stadium Of Light for away fans – ‘cheesey chips this way’ etc

Additionally though, the mackems are producing 40,000 guidebooks for visiting fans with things to see and do while in the area –  as you can see with the illustration we have managed to bring you a sneak preview of how it will look…
