Shola Goes Goal Crazy For Nigeria

Having already qualified for a two-legged play-off to decide World Cup qualification for Brazil, Shola Ameobi today lined up for Nigeria against Burkina Faso.

The friendly ended up in a 4-1 win for the Super Eagles with Shola grabbing his first ever international goal.

Brown Ideye score twice in the first half to put Nigeria two up, with Shola scoring the third in the 53rd minute before Emenike added the fourth.

Simpore’s goal for Burkina Faso proving only a small consolation.

So the Fenham boy’s African adventure continues and with Nigeria a spin of the coin away from Brazil, the fun may not stop there.

Also facing two-legged play-off matches are Papiss Cisse & Senegal, as well as the Ivory Coast & Cheick Tiote.
