Pardew Says Yohan Cabaye Is The Daddy
Alan Pardew will no doubt be pleased to have had a decent preparation time with his players ahead of the Aston Villa match, aside from the handful away on international duty.
One of those stay at homes has been Yohan Cabaye, Didier Deschamps taking a strict line on Cabaye and others who haven’t had regular football in recent weeks.
For the good of the player and the rest of us let’s hope we can get back to applying ourselves at Villa, after the pantomime jeers and cheers that greeted the French midfielder when he took the pitch against Fulham.
Alan Pardew is certainly bigging his key midfielder up in advance of Saturday and has revealed to the Chronicle something else that may have been a distraction to Yohan in recent times;
“Yohan Cabaye stayed behind and he’s had a full week here, he has been able to get a lot of work done. His wife has just had a baby too.
Yohan has just got on with his work and settled down, he is getting on with the job in hand. He has been terrific and just got his head down to get on with life.”
It would be lovely to think that the team can pick up seamlessly from that closing period of the Fulham match and from the kick-off take the match to Villa with pace and an ambitious formation, to do so Yohan Cabaye is a key component. I have every confidence that the boos have now been put to bed and we can all get on with doing our best for Newcastle.
Three points at Villa would be a great way to welcome the latest addition to the Cabaye family.
