Pardew Names Cabaye In Attacking Line-Up v Aston Villa

8 years ago

The manager had plenty to think about this week when looking at his options for the starting eleven at Villa Park.

It was a knocking bet Alan Pardew was going to keep his back five intact after two Premier League clean sheers, three if you include the altered line-up against Morecambe.

Preferred To Taylor

So Steven Taylor can only make the bench as Mapou remains alongside Coloccini.

It was nailed on that Yohan Cabaye was going to make his first start of the season today and sure enough he will be at the heart of Newcastle’s team and a lot of responsibility on him to lead by example in the following line-up;

Krul, Debuchy, Coloccini, Mapou, Santon, Sissoko, Cabaye, Anita, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Remy

If the rest of the team can get the ball to that front three of Ben Arfa (11/1 first goal), Cisse (8/1 first goal) and Remy (15/2 first goal) in the final third, then every chance of Newcastle being in business today.

While on the bench we have;

Ellliot, Dummett, Taylor, Tiote, Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Gouffran

Good to see a few options there where I don’t think it automatically weakens us if subs come on.

Looks like Jonas still injured and also no sign of Shola…
