Pardew Confirms Yohan Cabaye Punishment For Going Missing In Action

Alan Pardew used his press conference today to confirm that Yohan Cabaye has indeed been disciplined by Newcastle United for missing the opening matches of the season.

After a largely supportive role in recent weeks where the manager has defended his playmaker and pointed to mitigating circumstances, Pardew has now brought the big stick out.

Alan Pardew says that Cabaye has accepted his punishment in good grace and now hopefully we can all move on from here.

A Newcastle United with Cabaye on the pitch is undoubtedly a more dangerous animal than one without.

The exact nature of Yohan’s punishment has not as yet been revealed but sitting on the naughty step at the training ground watching Shola and Sammy’s shooting practice hasn’t been ruled out.

The finale of the Fulham match and the 90 minutes against Villa have helped everybody to start gazing a bit further up the league table.

If Cabaye can get himself back to his best, then with Ben Arfa we’ll have easily our two most creative players firing on all cylinders, and if that’s the case we stand a chance against anybody.
