Newcastle United’s Remy Bailed Again
Newcastle’s only senior addition to the first team squad, Loic Remy, has now been rebailed up to November.
Remy was arrested earlier this year along with a friend and his cousin on suspicion of rape.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said;
“I can confirm today that three men who were arrested on the morning of Wednesday 15 May; aged 26, 23 & 22 on suspicion of rape, have now been rebailed to appear on November 21 2013.”
On purely footballing matters, the more pessimistic fans saw a scenario where Remy might not even have played for Newcastle after arriving on loan carrying an injury, then potentially moving straight into a courtroom scenario.
The police investigation will naturally run its course but again in purely football matters, Remy came on against Fulham and suggested he can be an asset to the team.
How long Remy is available for Newcastle United is open to question with the court proceedings and then if there is a positive outcome in that matter, exactly what happens when his loan arrangement ends.
