Newcastle Target’s Asking Price Rises By £5m
Following recent speculation regarding a possible bid for PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet by Newcastle United, a price of £7million is being estimated as the potential asking price now.
This is a major increase from the £2million claimed to be quoted to United during the summer transfer window; the reason for this inflation is the Dutch youngster’s rise to prominence in the PSV set-up.
Despite Tim Krul recently stating his happiness with life at St James’ Park, Alan Pardew has spoken on more than one occasion of being “vulnerable to bids,” for his prize assets; Krul included.
Despite the fact that United did not make a formal offer for Zoet and were able to retain the services of Krul, it is believed that Joe Kinnear is still working under Mike Ashley’s instruction to add to Alan Pardew’s options in the goalkeeping department.
Potential target Zoet had this to say: “I am someone who likes to take things step by step.
You have to keep trying and deal with things that are in your hands. Your career never unfolds the way you would expect it to.”
