Loic Forward With Remy
Newcastle United’s one and only summer addition to their senior squad spoke today of his confidence that he and his new team-mates can have a successful campaign.
Loic Remy was signed by the Magpies on a season-long loan from Queen’s Park Rangers, who also struggled at the wrong end of the table last season. However, while QPR succumbed to relegation, United maintained their Premier League status and their new number 14 has been quoted in today’s Chronicle in confident fashion.
“We’ve a big chance this season and a chance to get into the top six if we win [this Saturday’s away game at Aston Villa]. The game will be difficult but we have a great chance to win it thanks to the quality in this team.
My team-mates and I are all on the same wavelength; we are all focussed on helping the club grow and I am very optimistic that we can have a good season. Last season was hard for the club but I think this season we can do a good job together.”
Newcastle currently sit in 12th position in the Premier League table, but go into Saturday’s game at Villa Park knowing that a win could boost them several places at this early stage in the campaign.
