Joe Kinnear “This Is The Reality Of A Well Run Football Club”

8 years ago

This weekend we had an extra treat when we went to the Hull match,as well as watching an ‘interesting’ match my son gets a programme which he flicks through at half-time looking at the photos etc.

The next morning I have a quick read through which doesn’t usually take long…

However, I’ve just had a look at yesterday’s effort and there was an extra treat, a column by Joe Kinnear. At last, he’s doing something for his ill-gotten gains.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this column ‘wot I rote’ might not be all Joe’s work, a bit like that embarrassing statement Pardew allowed his name to be put to after the transfer window closed, but this is what JFK has had to say;

‘I have now had time to appraise the strength of the squad and I have been impressed with the quality we possess. There was some very good business done in the January window before I arrived which has stood us in good stead this season.

It was not an easy task to improve the quality of the current squad with the financial resources at our disposal, particularly in a window in which the value of players was grossly inflated and the demands of agents likewise.

We will continue to operate in a financially responsible manner, buying only the right players for the right prices and not paying over the odds or making costly kneejerk decisions.

This is the reality of a well run football club that lives within its means.’

Yes Joe, we know all too well what the reality of Newcastle United is and where credit needs to be given…
