Hatem Ben Arfa Names The Two People He Won’t Forgive
This week Hatem Ben Arfa has been generous with his quotes.
Talking about his dream of being World footballer of the year, his goal target for this season (15-20) and his ambitions for both Newcastle United and France.
Hatem also talked about his regrets in the past and wanting to build bridges with people such as Laurent Blanc and Didier Descamps, the previous and current national coaches of France.
Speaking to France Football though, Ben Arfa has also revealed the two people he most definitely isn’t in a mood for forgiveness with.
Thanks as always to Pierre for the expert translation;
In an interview with France-Football on Tuesday, the former Gold Nugget from OL (Lyon) has come back on his relationship problems with Laurent Blanc during Euro 2012 and Didier Deschamps at Marseille: “I want to say sorry, also, to all those who have always tried to see me as the guy who had a bit of talent rather than one who was pig headed. But, just a minute, I do not want to apologise to everyone either. If I have had a clash with Aulas, I really do not want to say sorry to him. Same for Larqué, who has never stopped to put me down. But I say this without any animosity… “
Jean-Michel Larque is an ex-player, coach and now sports journalist, he has been very outspoken in his criticism of Ben Arfa and very over the top in the player’s, and indeed most of the public’s, eyes.
Jean-Michel Aulas is of course the owner of Lyon, where the main focus of Newcastle United’s bizarre summer transfer window was, Lyon of course also the club where Hatem Ben Arfa first made his mark…and crossed swords with Aulas.
The Lyon owner simply added to the ridiculous nature of the Bafetimbi Gomis fiasco and Aulas is about as well respected in France as our very own Joe Kinnear is on Tyneside….no wonder no transfer happened!
