Exclusive Claimed On New £15m Cabaye Bid
With only hours remaining of the transfer window, Alan Pardew did little to banish fears that Yohan Cabaye could still leave.
Predictably there are now headlines this morning claiming that Arsenal are coming in with a renewed bid of £15m.
However, with no apparent bidding war, that Mike Ashley would have expected, it looks as though Arsenal hold all the aces.
This morning’s ‘exclusive’ from the Daily Star claims that the Gunners are lining up the renewed bid for Cabaye but are also interested in Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil and Schalke’s Julian Draxler.
It continues to look the case that Newcastle are at the end of the food chain and that any move for Cabaye depends on other moves not happening. This domino effect could clearly impact on Newcastle if Arsenal decide on Yohan in the very final stages of the transfer window, which is round about…NOW!
With things left so late and the repercussions of selling one of Newcastle’s best players, Mike Ashley could simply say no, as it is a far too dangerous policy to sell so late in the day with potentially no replacement.
However, after getting away with the Andy Carroll transfer mid-season with no replacement then it is all too possible that the owner will gamble yet again.
