Club Owner Now Blames Agents As Only Reason For Failure Of Newcastle Transfer

Last week we saw Bafetimbi Gomis blame Newcastle United’s insistence on a wage cut for the failure of the player’s summer move to Tyneside.

However, this has now been contradicted by Lyon’s President, Jean-Michel Aulas.

In the fallout from this increasingly messy (non-) transfer, Aulas is now blaming Gomis’ agents as the sole reason the transfer didn’t happen.

Jean-Michel Aulas has returned to the aborted transfer of Bafetimbi Gomis to Newcastle on CFC (Canal Football Club) and blames agents of the French striker.

In the interview he gave to the CFC last weekend, Bafetimbi Gomis reported a salary disagreement to explain his aborted transfer to Newcastle. Information contradicted by its president Jean-Michel Aulas on Canal Football Club.

 “We had to reinstate him, There was no problem about salary, no problem about the transfer amount with Newcastle. Other problems meant that Bafé could not leave. The only thing not agreed was the relationship with agents. He did not go to Newcastle because at one point there was a final discussion with the agents that prevented him from leaving. Obviously he had to return to the team. Any club owner would have done the same thing. I think if there had been no interference by a number of people in this case, Bafé would have left …  ”
