Alan Pardew Relaunches Winger’s Career For The 787th Time

It isn’t so much ‘Groundhog Day’, more like ‘Groundhog Season’.

Every year without fail, at least once, Alan Pardew will try to make the case for arguably the worst signing during his time at Newcastle.

Like most other fans I groaned when the board was held up on Wednesday night and Gabriel ‘Squidward’ Obertan came back into our lives.

This is what Alan Pardew had to say about the winger;

“At times Gabby has come in for a bit of stick here but his pace is still a real asset to us, especially when we take the lead.

He can come of the bench and stretch teams, he came on against Leeds and could have had a couple of goals.

Gabby is desperate to do well here.”

Leeds had totally given up by the time Obertan came on and he proceeded to miss tow absolute sitters.

I think Alan Pardew will need a bit more than that from the player before he attempts to relaunch Squidward’s Newcastle career for the 787th time.
