The Good News Can’t Stop Rolling Now For Newcastle United…

After a largely tortuous summer that until last night was a massive transfer signing void, with only the ‘signing’ of Joe Kinnear to keep our interest…

It appear that, relatively speaking, the good news keeps on coming at St.James’ Park, the signing of Loic Remy followed up now by good news for our opening match at St.James’ Park.

Our old friend Sam Allardyce has been speaking to Talksport and when asked about Andy Carroll’s recovery progress, our ex-manager had this to say;

“Andy’s making good progress and doing some running.

We’ll look at things over the next week but considering where Andy is in his preparation, I would think we are looking more realistically at the match following the international break; the Southampton away game on September 15th.”

With what looks like a not so easy opener at the Etihad, it is vital there is no repeat of the poor defeat last season when Andy Carroll played and Kevin Nolan scored the goal that took all three points for West Ham from St.James’ Park.

You don’t need Carroll’s price tag(s) to know that on his day he is a real handful and it is a massive bonus that he won’t be lining up against us, now if only we can get three points at City…
