Pardew After Final Whistle – Cabaye Could Still Be On His Bike
A drab match was lit up by the appearance of Yoan Gouffran, Loic Remy and …Yohan Cabaye, late in the second half against Fulham.
All three players played a part in eventually getting the three points over the line, their mobility and added urgency making Newcastle look a completely different team.
Predictably though it was Cabaye who was the big talking point afterwards with Alan Pardew saying the following once the final whistle had blown;
“It does not mean he is staying because the window is staying open until 11pm on Monday.
It is a worry and we have marked his agent’s card that if he wants to do business then he should do it early.
The fans got it right, as it was a mixed reaction, some saying Newcastle comes first and others welcoming him because he is a great player.”
Surely the time has long gone to be saying that the agent/Cabaye/whoever needs to get any ‘business done early’.
Surely for the health of Newcastle United the time should be long gone when the club would be selling one of their best players.
Newcastle United aren’t paupers and it should be a simple no, rather than the club themselves also apparently trying to keep this potential transfer alive.
