Newcastle’s Best Player Now Out Of Fulham Match

Yet another player has been added to the injury list as Alan Pardew’s undersized squad feels the strain.

The writing was on the wall for me when Tim Krul wasn’t named in the Dutch squad for their World Cup qualifiers and there were rumours/reports that he had a slight knock which ensured he played no part in the visit to Morecambe.

The small knock has been confirmed as a groin strain by Alan Pardew with the manager having this to say about his understudy;

“When Rob (Elliot) was at Charlton we got him under the radar for nothing really for a Premier League player.

He is not just pushing Tim but he is a Premier League goalie by anyone’s game.

Fair play to him, that was a real good bit of business on our part. He’s a cracking lad. He is very comfortable on the ball and it is only when the group really accept you that you can be like that.”

I think Elliot has done ok but for my money Tim Krul is our best player and like Shay Given before him is easily worth double figure points over the course of a season.

Everything crossed that Krul is back after this international break.

***Thankfully reports of Krul’s demise were overdone and great to see him keep a clean sheet against Fulham.
