Newcastle United and Sky ‘Exclusives’
Exclusive: Sky Sports reveal that Alan Pardew is planning to operate this season with a 442 with Cisse and Remy up front and Gouffran and Shola scrapping for games, as Ben Arfa and Jonas take up wingman duties.
In a further Sky Sports exclusive, it is revealed that Cabaye is no longer wanted by Mike Ashley (just his transfer fee), and in yet more news today exclusive to Sky Sports, Newcastle are preparing a final bid for Bent which specifies he will get £68,995.21 a week and Aston Villa will be compensated to £5.25m.
Further Sky Sports exclusive news today is that Newcastle are in the market for a left winger and have eyed Italian U21 Paolo Rivini as their target and at 5.23pm on 5 August, will be placing on offer for him of £3.74m with a weekly wage of £42,012.23 and agents’ fees of £888,872. Sky Sports have also today discovered that………….
Is anyone else absolutely sick and fed up with NUFC tipping off Sky Sports in advance of just about every important decision affecting our club? JFK bemoans that 3rd parties can intervene to scupper his plan but I wonder who it is at NUFC broadcasting to the world (via Mr Murdoch) and alerting clubs that NUFC are after such and such a player, or prepared to pay £x – thus inviting other parties to come in and offer £y?
Strategically, it is a really bad approach to signal your intentions before getting the business done, yet we have gone from Carr working quietly and effectively in the background and unearthing gems after tremendous diligence and secrecy, to a situation where our idiot Director of Football seems incapable of acting professionally and keeping his (our) cards close to his chest.
I appreciate that it may not be NUFC every time blagging to the 4 winds, and that payers and agents have some (self-interest) part to play in talking themselves and their opportunities up, but carefully managed communications from NUFC seem extinct with this new approach to transfer management under JFK.
Yet one more reason to loathe the man in terms of what he is doing not being in the best interests of NUFC, and Ashley who has given him this mad platform which is backfiring alarmingly.
Please shut up until the deals are inked!
