Fat Sam Rues Missed Chances While Pardew Says Defending Couldn’t Be Better…
They often say how everybody who watches a football match comes away with a different opinion.
Well there were two very different views today, one from Newcastle’s current incumbent and on e a haunting from the past.
“We know we should have won this game and can only blame ourselves for our lack of finishing quality.
It is not that often when you play away from home and create 3 or 4 clear –cut goalscoring chances, but unfortunately our heading ability was not up to scratch.”
Secondly, Monsieur Alan Pardew;
“We had to dig in after Manchester City and show resilience, defensively we couldn’t have put in a better performance.”
Well it sticks in the throat but I have to agree with that idiot who managed us a few years ago.
Alan Pardew could hardly put a positive spin on Newcastle’s creativity and brilliant shots, so instead he puts the positive spin using the fact we kept a clean sheet.
Just because you keep a clean sheet doesn’t always mean it was great defending.
Newcastle were negative and West Ham even more so, thank god for Allardyce!
Even so, West Ham had a good handful of clear chances that they failed to take, with Newcastle’s defence bypassed.
United scored a goal from a corner in pre-season and the manager was all over that claiming it was the result of hard work etc on the training ground, no doubt he’ll be claiming the same for this clean sheet.
In reply I have only a four letter word…luck!
