Cisse In Goals (…Celebration) Ban and A Video Reminder Of That Classic Moment
It is a bit ironic that with Newcastle struggling to score goals even in pre-season friendlies, that Alan Pardew has made an issue of Papiss Cisse not repeating his leap into the crowd, as he did against Fulham last season, a goal which arguably kept Newcastle up.
This is what he had to say to the Mirror;
“Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to do that again (jump into the crowd) this season because when I did it last time I got a yellow card – so the manager has had a word with me about it.
Obviously I would love to jump in with the fans again and say hello after I’d scored this season to thank them for their support…but it won’t be happening.
This time I’ll have to think of something new to do because I can’t leave the pitch and get booked again.
I’ll try to come up with a few ideas, it can be just a heat of the moment thing so we’ll see what happens.”
Well I for one would take a yellow card for Papiss if he repeats the trick against fat Sam today.
That late winner from Cisse against Fulham on April 7 was the last home win we’ve seen, that drought needs to end today, with or without crowd surfing.
