Cabaye Absence – Do You Blame Player, Manager, Owner, Everybody?

Watching today’s match after the feeble effort at Manchester City, it is obvious the team is in need of inspiration.

While Hatem Ben Arfa is single-handedly trying to drag Newcastle to three points, his compatriot is sat at home or wherever twiddling his thumbs.

The Chronicle are claiming today that Cabaye has refused to play against both Manchester City and West Ham.

If that is true then surely Newcastle United have to fine the player, anything else will just lead to fans believing that he is not playing for some other reason.

Until I see a fine publicly handed down to Yohan, then I’m afraid I will be very dubious as to where the fault lies for Cabaye not appearing on the pitch.

Everybody from Mike Ashley all the way down to Alan Pardew seems happy to see Cabaye go and as much money raked in as possible, hence the belief by many that Cabaye’s absence is due to Ashley’s reluctance to risk damaging his goods before he gets the deal ‘over the line’.

A public fine for the playmaker would make things a lot clearer for me but until then…
