Alan Shearer Is Putting His Latest Squad Together And Needs Your Help
The Great North Run is always a great personal challenge for every competitor, whether you’re a ‘fun’ runner or seasoned professional.
What about using your personal challenge to help a great north charity complete an even bigger one?
You could take part in this iconic, athletic occasion in the name of one of the region’s most famous sporting sons, Alan Shearer, and run it for his Foundation, supporting children and adults with profound disabilities and sensory impairments.
Foundation Operations Manager, Nicola Milne.
“We’ll provide you with an Alan Shearer Foundation logo running vest, sponsorship forms and tips on fundraising for the charity.
All sponsorship money will be used towards our goal of raising £250,000 a year to allow us to keep the specialist resources at the Alan Shearer Centre free for disabled users, to enable us to offer some free short breaks at the facility and to help us pioneer disability services across the North East.”
If you have a place in the run (or know somebody else who does – suggest it to them) on September 15 and would like to join Alan Shearer’s team please contact Nicola on 0191 228 0111 or email [email protected].
Use your 13 mile Great North Run challenge to help make a difference to thousands of disabled people’s lives.
If like us you’d rather watch the GNR with your feet up at home, then you can still do your bit by donating to Alan’s Foundation HERE – every little (and large!) helps.
