Alan Pardew ‘Shame That On The Attacking Front We Haven’t Improved Since Last Year’
Newcastle improved in second half against Braga but lack of creativity is a massive worry with a lack of real quality and options up front as well, the exception being Cisse who has been often isolated since his return to the team.
Will Newcastle get more options in before Manchester City, or at the very least the start of the season?
This is what Alan Pardew had to say to the club’s official TV channel after the Braga 1-1 draw;
“Great fans here today. Shame that on the attacking front we haven’t improved since last year, in terms of personnel, with Loic Remy still injured.
I still think it is an area we need to look at, if we could get one or two more in, that would be great.
I was speaking to Joe to see what progress (pauses)…but team overall is in great shape.”
Yesterday’s match means that since the four goal extravaganza against Motherwell, Newcastle in six friendlies have only scored two goals against St.Mirren.
Last season, Newcastle’s final 12 competitive matches only yielded on match when they scored two, this only thanks to Bosingwa gifting both goals when we played QPR.
While you may criticise Pardew on various fronts, if they don’t give him at least one other quality attacking option then it could be Premier League suicide.
