Alan Pardew ‘One Signing Would Be Perfect’
On the questions of any signings being made in what remains of the transfer window, Alan Pardew has said that there are no guarantees of any signing(s) at all.
This uplifting message has been relayed to the fans with less than two weeks remaining to get in essential new faces.
This is what the manager had to say to the Chronicle;
We have still got a very good team with Remy on top of it.
We lost Ba and got other guys in January, I still think one more would be the perfect scenario.
A big player coming in boosts the group as well as the fans.
I am going to say something that I don’t think this is true and say ‘oh, it is not affecting them’.
I think they would like to see another striker come in the door.”
I would say that I find this summer’s shambolic nature amazing, the only problem is that it isn’t. It was so predictable but just how bad it has been is really taking it to the limit.
Here we have the manager claiming we still have a very good team whilst at the same time basically admitting the players have made clear that not getting a new striker/first team player, at the very minimum, would be a nightmare.
How the manager then tries now to portray that only one signing would be perfect is just ludicrous, especially if Cabaye is on his bike.
