Alan Pardew On Transfer Window ‘We Are Vulnerable Right up To The Last Minute’
I know at times Alan Pardew doesn’t help himself but today I felt a little sorry for him as yet again he had to take on the role of defending the indefensible.
Put up there on a regular basis he has to answer for everything at the club and the look on his face was priceless when he was talking about the stresses and strains of the past week.
However, the bottom line is that as usual with the transfer window there were no positives and the ‘last minute’ threat hanging over us as usual as we watch Sky Sports tick the final minutes of the transfer window off.
This is what the manager has had to say today about the past week and transfers;
“It has not been the easiest week I have to say.
I have had a few agendas in my time as Newcastle manager but it is always colourful and you kind of get resilient to it.
I think it is my hundredth Premier League game as Newcastle manager this weekend, I’m really proud of that.
It has aged me considerably and I think I have aged a couple of years this week.
We are vulnerable right up to the last minute, as Andy Carroll proved two years ago.
We have to be constantly on our toes as it is a moving feast.”
